Alan was an actuarial student in 1969 with Scottish Widows so he understands the industry algebra. He became an IFA in 1973 - formed Alan Steel Asset Management in 1975.
He has survived 4 stock market crashes.
Spent 8 years with Clerical Medical before joining Alan in 1995.
He also helps financial journalists with his specialist knowledge in all areas of financial planning, particularly investments.
Stan joined Alan in 1980 following 15 years with Scottish Provident. He has been a Director since 1984.
He has extensive pension and investment expertise.
Frances joined the company in 1994 to set up our Tax Consultancy service for clients. Now she works mainly as the Company Secretary and is also responsible for managing our returns to the Financial Services Authority. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax adviser. Frances joined the Board in February 2010.
An experienced Tax and Trust specialist, including time with the Inland Revenue, specialist tax firms and off-shore insurance companies. Joined Alan Steel Asset Management in 1999. Fiona joined the Board in December 2009 with responsibility for Risk and Compliance
Assists clients with the completion of their Tax Returns and general personal tax compliance. Qualified as Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor during almost 10 years with a 'big five' accountancy firm.
Joined Alan Steel Asset Management in 1998.
He has broad experience with General Accident, NEL Britannia and a National Brokerage before joining Alan Steel Asset Management in 1995.

Alan was headhunted from an IFA firm where he was a director. He's been with Alan Steel Asset Management since early 1999, before that 4 years with an IFA firm, 4 years with National Brokers and 5 years with Clerical Medical. Alan's broad experience has made him a valuable addition to the team.
He won the Scotsman 'IFA of the Year' competition 2005/06.
David joined us in June 2001 from the Royal Bank of Scotland where he worked for 13 years in the Banking Division with the last 5 years being spent as an IFA within Royal Bank Insurance Services.
Colin joined the industry in 1990. He spent 10 years with specialist pension providers NPI and Legal & General before bringing his expertise to Alan Steel Asset Management in June 2000.
Joined Alan Steel Asset Management in 1992. Originally responsible for the administration of the discretionary fund management area until 1996 when she moved to the pensions and investments arena to assist Steven Forbes. Comprehensive knowledge of all areas involved in successful financial planning.
Steve joined Alan Steel in 2006. Previously he spent 8 years with Scottish Amicable in corporate pensions and, more recently, 9 years with AXA Sun Life as a consultant specialising in offshore planning, pensions, post retirement planning and investments for private individuals.
